Dust collection nozzle

As we craft our intricate handles whether out of cork, wood or EVA we need to be aware of our exposure risks.  Rather than relying on only a dust mask for your PPE, these nozzles capture the dust as it is being created before becoming airborne helping keep your work area cleaner.

The design leverages common drywall sanding screens which can be purchased at most home improvement and hardware stores in a variety of grits (120-220).  We created both a 2” wide and 1” wide vacuum nozzles with a perforated backing surface to avoid creating any high/low irregularities when shaping the handle.

The nozzle sizes accommodate the standard vacuum diameters: 1-1/4”, 1-1/2”, with adapters for 1-1/8”, 1-7/8”, 2” and 2-1/2” (measurements are of the nozzle ID)
